Years ago, Maya Wraps were made by Fundaniñas.  This is a wonderful Catholic organization run by nuns whose primary mission is to rescue homeless girls from a life of begging or prostitution.  These street girls, as they are called in Guatamala, are given a home and education until they are of age.  Because of its excellent reputation, Fundaniñas receives public, private, and church support.  The local Rotarians also support Fundaniñas.  In addition, Fundaniñas is also involved in raising money on its own. Maya Wrap has outgrown its arrangement with Fundaniñas and now works with another manufacturer.  Maya Wrap still gives Fundaninas a percentage of their gross.
